Routes to Miklósi

There are several routes from the Netherlands to Miklósi. Each route has its advantages and disadvantages. Below we list a few for orientation. The routes can also be combined according to your own preference. Kilometre indications are indicative. Our own starting point is always from the North of the Netherlands, but a large part of most routes can of course also be followed from the Middle and South of the Netherlands. First we give the routes to the Hungarian border, then within Hungary to Miklósi. For motorcyclists there is also an alternative route that we received from a motorcyclist friend - available on request.

  1. Groningen – Miklós via Leipzig – Dresden – Prague – Brno – Bratislava – Györ (1361 km):

Advantages: by far the shortest route from the North of the Netherlands; lowest fuel consumption; generally few traffic jams up to Prague.

Disadvantages: Bad motorway between Prague and Brno with many road works and many traffic jams during the day; toll roads: additional road vignettes for the Czech Republic and Slovakia, which can also be better arranged online because they are difficult to obtain at the borders and – if paid in cash – additional currency is needed (not Euro). This can be done via: https://www.hartmanova.eu/tol-vignet/#vignet bestellen.
